An outstanding start to the U13's tournaments yesterday at Cwmtawe. It's been a while since Rhondda has managed to field an U13's team, round about 7 years now and they certainly didn't let us down even in the dreary weather! It took them only the first half of the game against Brecon where they were 1-0 down to find their feet but then they owned the second half and came back with a 2-1 win! Onto Cwmtawe B where their play and positioning were top notch and came away rewarded with a 4-0 win. They fell a little disheartened in the first half against Cwmtawe A where they were 2-0 down but came back determined and pulled it right back with a 4-2 win!
Goals for the day came from Sera, Floss and Naiya. A huge thank you Seren, Sera, Ciara, Floss, Amy, Tegan, Naiya and Martha you were amazing!
Thank you also for the great parent support on the sidelines, couldn't do it without your support.
As like every year, it's that time where we start organising our Annual Christmas Shopping trip. This year Rhondda Ladies will be heading to Cheltenham on Sunday 3rd December. With only 13 places remaining, to book your place contact Nicola Bevan.
So today saw our U11’s step out to their first tournament of the season! 👏🏼
A team combined of new, younger & returning players and what an amazing job they did!

If you know Rhondda Ladies Hockey Club, you'll know that we love to party. So we thought why not fundraise and party at the same time? What a brilliant idea that was.
We went with the idea of holding an 80's Disco for members, friends and family to boogie to 80's music, dress up as our favourite 80's singers and old some fun games on the evening to raise funds.
With thanks to many local businesses who contributed to our raffle, those who took part in the games and those who bought tickets for the night, all in all we raised a huge £500 that will support the continuous development of the club.

Seems that it was Valentines Day this week, we had our members to share their #HockeyLove and give us the reason why they LOVE the game. The reasons varied from being able to socialise and make new friends to getting rid of a baby bump, but the key theme throughout it all was how everyone loves being part of the Hockey Family.
We work really hard to build the hockey family feel and sense of belonging at our club and by reading the reasons we seem to be doing a pretty good job.

Yesterday saw our final Indoor game of this season. We faced tough oppositions this year as there was only one pool. We may have conceded many goals but we capitalised on our 'For' goals from last season and we saw lots of improvements on set plays which lead to us scoring the goals against the strong oppositions.
Finishing 7th out of 7 will definitely not knock our confidence for next year, we will return feeling more motivated and determined than ever, with lots of training in between now and then and hopefully some new faces in next years team. Thanks to the South Wales Womens Hockey League for the coordination of this years competition, as always very well organised. Good luck to all teams competing in the finals next weekend, we will be there showing our support.
2017 is here and we are raring to go for an exciting 2nd half to our season.
